We are pleased to share great news from one of the SEISMEC pilots: SELANA founders Chingiskhan Kazakhstan and Max Schalow have been included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list. This recognition acknowledges their work as young entrepreneurs in the electric mobility sector and their contribution to practical, reliable and more sustainable transport solutions.

SELANA is a Dutch electric vehicle company behind the first fully legal e-scooter in the Netherlands. The company has attracted investor support and built visibility through collaborations with well-known local brands and influencers. Chingiskhan and Max are also co-founders of Fleetser, a platform that resells new and used electric scooters and bikes worldwide, giving more than 20,000 vehicles a second or third life in under a year.

Before SELANA, the founders also built a strong track record with Bondi, an e-bike sharing service that expanded across eight cities in the Netherlands and reached 100,000 users. Their experience in shared mobility, vehicle reuse and product development now feeds into SELANA’s work on e-scooters designed for everyday use.

As part of SEISMEC, SELANA is contributing to our work on human-centric Industry 5.0. The pilot focuses on how new technologies can support worker satisfaction, upskilling and safety across different stages of the product cycle.

Within the project, SELANA will explore Human-in-the-Loop Automation for inventory and stock management, the use of generative AI in industrial design, and technologies to improve health and safety in warehouse environments. This work will help us better understand how a growing mobility company can introduce digital tools while keeping people, their skills and their working conditions at the centre.

We are very happy to celebrate this recognition with the SELANA team and look forward to following their work within SEISMEC as the pilot progresses.
