Exploring human-centric innovation in Cluj-Napoca: SEISMEC at two industry events

How can businesses use new technologies while keeping people’s needs in mind?

This was one of the key topics SEISMEC explored during two events held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in October 2026: the Transilvania Digital Innovation Summit, on 8 October, and IDENTICOM4, on 13 October.

Through both events, Transilvania IT Cluster brought SEISMEC and the principles of Industry 5.0 closer to companies, technology providers and other actors interested in digital transformation and industrial innovation.

Human-centric Industry 5.0 at the Transilvania Digital Innovation Summit

Organised by the Transilvania Digital Innovation Hub (TEDIHT) and Transilvania IT Cluster, the second edition of the Transilvania Digital Innovation Summit welcomed experts from academia, businesses, technology companies and public authorities. The event focused on digital transformation, artificial intelligence and new technologies, offering opportunities to share experiences, discover practical solutions and build new connections.

Industry 5.0 in practice is learning through real examples

As AI and automation become more common in the workplace, SEISMEC highlighted the importance of human-centric Industry 5.0, where technology supports workers, improves working conditions and responds to people’s needs.

To introduce these ideas in an engaging way, SEISMEC invited participants to take part in an interactive quiz based on real company examples. The activity encouraged them to test their knowledge, discover good practices and explore how businesses can make technology work better for their employees.

Bringing Industry 5.0 closer to the industrial community at IDENTICOM4

A few days later, on 13 October 2026, Transilvania IT Cluster represented SEISMEC at IDENTICOM4, the International Technology and Professional Equipment Fair in Cluj-Napoca.

The event brought together 45 exhibitors, including providers of technology, robotics, electronics and manufacturing equipment, and welcomed more than 200 participants from a wide range of industrial sectors, including manufacturing, automotive and automation.

SEISMEC used the opportunity to introduce Industry 5.0 principles to both technology providers and users. Exhibitors and visitors were invited to reflect on what it means to design and implement human-centric technologies through a quiz based on real-world scenarios.

The activity created a practical way to discuss how technology can be introduced in industrial environments while considering the people who interact with it every day.

Making digital transformation work for everyone

Across both events, SEISMEC brought the same core message to different audiences: successful digital transformation is not only about adopting new technologies. It also requires considering how those technologies affect workers, working conditions and the way people participate in technological change.

Events such as the Transilvania Digital Innovation Summit and IDENTICOM4 offer practical opportunities to connect Industry 5.0 principles with real business and industrial contexts, while encouraging companies and technology providers to consider human-centricity from the earliest stages of technology design and implementation.
